Travel to Gettysburg and begin your visit at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center, where a film presentation, the impressive Cyclorama painting, and museum exhibits provide important context for the days ahead. Afterward, check into the Hotel Gettysburg, ideally located on historic Lincoln Square in the heart of town. This evening, gather for the Lincoln Buffet in the hotel’s Stevens Room and enjoy a relaxed start to your Pennsylvania getaway. (Dinner)
Day Two
After breakfast, return to the Gettysburg Visitor Center for a guided battlefield tour, visiting important sites such as Little Round Top, Devil’s Den, and the fields of Pickett’s Charge while learning about the events that shaped one of the Civil War’s most consequential battles. Continue to Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, where lunch is included before a guided walking tour introduces you to the town’s strategic importance and the story of John Brown’s raid. Enjoy some free time to explore the historic streets, take in views of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers, or walk a portion of the Appalachian Trail. Day Three
Begin the day with breakfast before traveling to the charming town of Lititz, where you’ll have time to enjoy lunch on your own, browse local shops, and explore the welcoming downtown. Continue to The Barnyard Studio for a memorable Chalk Talk by Elva Hurst, combining live chalk artistry with storytelling inspired by Lancaster County life and traditions. Later, travel to Mount Hope Estate & Winery, a beautiful historic estate where you’ll enjoy a tasting, dinner, and evening entertainment. Return to Gettysburg after a day that blends small-town charm, creativity, and Pennsylvania hospitality. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day Four
After breakfast and hotel check-out, visit the Seminary Ridge Museum, where exhibits explore the first day of the Battle of Gettysburg and the experiences of soldiers, civilians, and those who cared for the wounded. Walk through the historic building that once served as a Civil War field hospital and explore the surrounding grounds. A guided visit to the Cupola provides a unique perspective over the battlefield from the same vantage point used by Union General John Buford.
